busy busy

i can't wait until january 15th. that's when i'll finally have some free time! I managed to get all of the decorations up inside AND outside! all that's left to do is some more shopping. i had some extra plastic ornaments left over that didn't go with our tree that well, so i strung them on some wire, bunched them up and hung them on the wall. i think it's amazing if i do say so myself. i even bought another box of ornaments (that were way on sale) to make another one for the entry way. Plus! i got a new, amazing lens for my camera. well technically it's for christmas, but i needed it for an event today. ooops!

studying by coloring

so my goal for this next leg of my life is to go to graduate school. i've been debating with the idea for far too long and i need to get back into the swing of things. just one thing. i have absolutely no motivation to study. i have a hard time studying when i get home because i'm tired from my job, internship, life, etc. so one day my bff took me to this awesome store and i stumbled upon this gem. a coloring book... that helps you study! genius! i flipped through it and it was actually pretty informative. it was like $30 in the store so i did some research and found a bunch on amazon. i bought a physiology one and microbiology one all for under $30. honestly it hasn't made me study any more than my GRE books but it's only been four days and the weekend is here. as long as nothing major happens this weekend i forsee a lot of coloring!

i woke up this morning and found this little monster occupying the space where my tomato plant's leaves use to be. i started the three tomato plants from seeds and they had just recently sprouted up and were about to fruit. well... probably not anymore. oh well my zucchini and squash are growing like crazy so as long as this guy doesn't get a hold of them i'll have something to show for this year!

i haven't had the time or energy to blog... for quite some time now. but i think i finally have a schedule i'm used to that can fit photography and blogging. it might also have something to do with that slight slight change in our weather. fall always seems to inspire me!

Photography

i started a new internship last week at our photography museum. at first i was kind of disappointed with it because it wasn't exactly what i expected. Today however, was different. it was amazing. we had an artist talk and even though it was open to the public and i would've been able to go even if i hadn't applied to be an intern, i never would've experienced it the way i did today. since i had been around these artists all this week and got to know them as people first, i gained a different perspective. i have a feeling this internship is going to allow me to gain so much more experience than i expected!

i hate that i'm so busy i can't write! well quickly, i went to new orleans on tuesday and it was hotter than houston! i loved it though. we stayed in the french quarter and the french market was lovely. there was this lady selling these plants. my cousin bought a huge aloe plant and i bought some plumeria. i wish i could have bought some more! i haven't planted it yet, but after this weekend i should have more free time. plus we've had a mini drought but it finally rained today! it was glorious!

kitchen

so almost done with the kitchen! backsplash went up today. my mom did the most of it and i cut all the edges. now we have to put up the vent, and get new knobs. we might repaint, but i don't have as much free time as i used to. i'm excited it's finally getting done! i still have lots to do though. the floor in my mom's bedroom is waiting to be painted and i have a little project for the back yard. i'm going to fix up my old wicker stool and paint it red! haha then i'll have a nice little place on the deck for laying out and relaxing when i get home!
